Welcome to my homepage. It's a bit sparse at the moment, but that will gradually change. I do have a fair bit of content to post, but 99% of it falls squarely under the 'play' section, and it can wait.
I have just started a year's contract as a technical writer at Steel, a digital media agency based in Wandsworth. As companies go, they're a pretty cool bunch, and I'm delighted to be working there. However, I am only contracting, and round about October 2008 the contract will be up for review. While Steel and I both reckon there's enough work to keep me on as a full-time technical writer, we could be wrong, and if so that should become apparent at about the 10-month stage. In which case I may need to re-enter the job market, or switch to part-time work at Steel or something. I'll put an update here nearer the time if need be.
Update: The ten-month stage is now here, and my words were depressingly prophetic. Steel, like everyone else, has been hit by the downturn, and they've had to let me go. Hey, never mind me, they've even had to shed some good perm staff too, which is a real shame. There's a good chance I'll have the odd bit of freelance work to do for them, but for now I'm back in the job market again. Contract or perm; I don't mind. If you're looking for a good technical author, do please have a looky here.
